UZBEK POETRY INTO PUNJABI BY SWARNJIT SAVI
Recently Uktamoy (Uktam Khanum) visited India for the releasing of her new published books in India. ‘My heart is Weeping’ translated in English by Qosim Mamourov and ‘Sada Ronda Ey Dil Mahia’ in Punjabi by poet, painter Swarnjit Savi. Both books were Released in Chandigarh By. Dr. Sutinder Singh Noor , Swarnjit Savi and Dr. Saroa and in Ludhiana by Dr. M. S. Kang -Vice Chancellor of Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana. Uktamoy is translated into Punjabi only after Zulfia Khanum of Uzbekistan, who was translated 20 years back by Amrita Pritam, and this time credit goes to Swarnjit Savi. Everybody including our most important literary critics like Dr. SS Noor, Amarjit Grewal, Dr. Niranjan Tasneem, Dr. Deepak Manmohan Singh, Manjit Indra , Dr. Raina, Navtej Bharti, Dr. Jagdev Singh, Prof. Aziz Parihar from Punjabi, English and Urdu appricaited the poetry and welcomed the books particularly in Punjabi.
